Everything about Mariah and Josh’s wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Also, I’m just going to put it out there….. I personally think September is the absolutely IDEAL month to hold a wedding in Michigan. The temperature is usually perfect, the skies are usually beautiful, and all of the summer flowers tend to still be in bloom. September is usually the first month of each year to fully book up, so clearly I’m not the only one that understands what a perfect month it is to have a wedding!

Also, I’ve done weddings all around Michigan, but I actually live in Muskegon. Because of this, I was able to pretty much just pop on over to the reception space, Verdonis (Harris Catering and Event Center), and get all of the reception details before even starting out my normal wedding photography coverage. This is a huge perk if you are getting married in Muskegon and will have your reception space completely set up and ready to go in the morning. I can stay with you the rest of the day and not have to worry about guests coming in and throwing beers and handbags all over the tables before I can get in there to take photos (yes thats a thing… and it happens at almost every wedding where people are allowed to poke around the reception space before the reception technically begins).

Mariah and Josh opted for a 6 hour, two photographer, wedding package to cover the main events of the wedding day. Because of the close proximity of everything and the well planned timeline, we were easily able to cover pretty much everything within that shorter time frame. Between a well laid-out timeline and the ability to photograph the venue before everything else, and a chill AF amazing couple and bridal party, this was easily one of my favorite weddings of the year!
